Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha have unveiled the music video for their new collaboration “In The Name Of Love.” The video is situated at a palatial mansion where the two artists star as a pair of lovers navigating the tumultuous waters of love.
The scene finds Martin Garrix suited up and Bebe Rexha in a red dress in the backyard of a large mansion. Out by the pool, they stand on the diving board as the song progresses. The weather gets stormy and the water comes up to splash at them, but despite all of the ominous signs, they jump in the pool and kiss. All in the name of love.
The track is much different from what fans have heard from Garrix before. As he transitions from harder electro, festival-driven beats to songs with a bigger emphasis on the melody, Garrix has become a bigger and bigger star. “In The Name Of Love” fits into the current dance-pop landscape with its shimmering synths and high-pitched vocal stabs. By launching his own record label STMPD Records and releasing pop & hip-hop music under the moniker Area21, Garrix has really spread his wings in 2016.
Bebe Rexha is an American singer-songwriter of Albanian descent who sang vocals on ‘Hey Mama’ with David Guetta, collaborated with Nicki Minaj on ‘No Broken Hearts’ and co-wrote Eminem’s huge ‘Monster’. Garrix’s collaboration with her gives a taste of what to expect on his debut album, which sees him team up with a host of incredibly talented vocalists and songwriters to create something a lot more meaningful than your usual dance album.
‘In The Name of Love’ also marks the first release for Martin under his new worldwide deal with Sony Music. “Martin is one of the preeminent DJs in the world and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him and his team to the Sony Music family” said Adam Granite, President Northern & Eastern Europe & Africa, Sony International.
The music video leaks on Miaopai, a video app China based company. The official music video now available on Apple Music.
