It’s been several days since cleaners discovered six women in DVBBS’ dressing room following the Canadian duo’s performance at Balaton Sound festival in Hungary on July 9. Three of those women were unconscious and in need of medical attention.
The duo was detained at Liszt Ferenc International Airport and arrested on drug paraphernalia charges, though they have since been released. The investigation by local authorities is ongoing and no charges have been filed against the duo (Chris Chronicles and Alex Andre) or anyone else, but Balaton Sound has announced that DVBBS will no longer be performing at the upcoming Sziget Festival in August, which also takes place in Hungary.
“Both as organizers and human beings we find it inacceptable that such a situation could have occurred,” read a Facebook statement from festival organizers. “Needless to say, the cancellation is not to be (and cannot be) interpreted as a judgement in the question of the performers’ legal responsibility for the incident, because the legal clarification of the events exclusively belongs to the competency of the police.”
DVBBS and the group’s lawyer released a statement on July 12 stating the pair was shocked to hear of the incident, have pledged their cooperation with authorities, and wish the best for the six women.
